The ESA Whole Home approach is designed to deliver the maximum energy upgrades across your home. These upgrades can ensure your home is more energy efficient, but most importantly, it'll help improve your health, comfort and safety. ESA Whole Home is designed to offer free* upgrades that may also include a smart thermostat, heat pump water heater, gas storage water heater, air conditioner and more.

  • Step-by-step instructions on how to make your home more energy efficient

How It Works

Step 1: Eligibility

Participants must live in a house or apartment that is at least five years old and must have lived in the home for at least 12 months. Participants must also meet the income guidelines.

Step 2: Contact us

Complete the eligibility pre-screen form [English] [Spanish], or call or email us to complete a free phone screening with an Energy Specialist.

Step 3: Eligibility verification

CLEAResult will have an energy specialist call you to verify eligibility and schedule a home energy assessment.

Step 4: No-cost home energy assessment

During your home energy assessment, the energy specialist will inspect your home for areas that might need upgrades and/or repairs.

Step 5: Follow-up

PG&E inspectors, gas or electric personnel may visit your home to follow up on upgrades or previous work. Additionally, PG&E's authorized third-party consultants may be in touch to hear about your experience.
